European Conferences for Youth Information
What is “European Conferences for Youth Information”?
The objective of the “European Conferences for Youth
Information”, a LABEL GUIDEurope funded programme, is
to share practice amongst Young People’s Information
Service Providers to facilitate the free circulation of information
within an open Europe and improve access to European youth
programmes.
The objective is to be achieved through the sharing of working
practices, projects and ideas by the eight countries participating
in the programme - France, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Belgium,
Norway, Sweden and Wales – through annual conferences,
training programmes, job shadowing opportunities, youth exchanges
and the development of an interactive website.
Canllaw Online is the partner for Wales and has worked with
representatives from the statutory, voluntary and independent
sectors to realise this project.
Benefits to Wales:
Through the sharing of working practices and the pooling of
information by the eight participating European countries,
young people in Wales will benefit from the development of
a further enhanced information service - increasing awareness
of the emergence of a European citizenship, and providing opportunities
to participate in events specifically designed to increase
European awareness and mobility, such as youth exchanges and
themed events.
The experiences and opinions of the young people involved
will be fed back into the Information for Young People services,
both in Wales and in the participating European countries.
